We receive numerous spam mails everyday in our email account. But, are you one of those who get problem of these emails? If you don”t take any measure to block those unwanted emails, you will receive them everyday. Here is how you can block spam emails.
You can prevent the spam emails by installing an anti-spam software installed on your computer. Now-a-days, most of the email accounts include anti-spam software, but there are some which don’t have. If your account doesn’t have one, you just have to press the Junk button when you receive junk emails. This way you can reduce the number of spam emails. Some account such as an AOL already has anti-spam software. Because of it, the spam emails directly go to the spam box of the account. This is a good way to prevent spam emails but, you need to check if some other emails are going into the spam box. For this you need to click on the email and click on the button Not Spam, which tells AOL that the email is not spam and from then onwards that particular email address will turn up in your email inbox, instead of your spam box. This is called email filtering, which many accounts such as Hotmail, Yahoo and Google use in order to help their users get the most out of their email account.
Microsoft Outlook 2003 and 2007 have an automatic spam protection that catches spam and sends into a junk email box. But, this may sometimes catch regular emails, however, it defiantly helps you and you just need to check the spam box.
By having a long email address, which includes letters and numbers with punctuation marks may help you stop unwanted spam emails. Avoid clicking on the links on spam emails, because this may allow more spam to come to your inbox. Also avoid opening spam attachments and don’t reply to spam emails. Give your main email address to your friends and family and don’t post it on your own website or on internet directories, don’t buy products, services or donate to charity via spam emails.
