Life Mapping – Chart Out Your Success

The term Success is defined as, something that is more than economic gains, titles, and degrees. If you want to succeed in life then, you must map out all the aspects of your life. Following are some of the factors that would help define  success better:

Origin: Define yourself
Every individual’s origin is defined as his/her starting point. Usually, when we are asked to introduce ourself. We start with our name, age and place we study/work. The introduction doesn’t clearly define as who we really are. Therefore, to figure who we really are we need to look closely at our beliefs, values, and principles. You can also reflect on your experiences, traits, skills, knowledge, strengths, and weaknesses.

Destination: A vision about your future
When people ask you about your future plans, are you clear about them. To succeed  one must be very clear about his goal and aspiration. If you don’t have any set goals to accomplish or unclear about them,  it reflects that you are unsure about your vision and targets in life.

Vehicle: Your Goal
The path to your ultimate goal is defined as the vehicle.  It can be analogized to your mission or vocation in life. How much you know about yourself would be highly effected by your mission.

Composite Traits:  knowledge, skills, and attitude
A life map consists of your knowledge, skills, and attitudes. All these traits help determine your competence and assist in obtaining your vision. These factors also help to figure-out your present traits as well as what you need to gain along the way. This two-fold assessment will give you insights on your landmarks or measures of success.

Anticipate Turns
The main goal of a life map is to reduce hasty and spur-of-the-moment decisions that can make you deviate from your main goal. At times, plans get changed along the way due to certain inconveniences, delays, and other situations beyond our control.
