Pitfalls in Network Marketing
There is a high rate of failure within the first five years for those who set up a new network marketing business. If you are involved in network networking, here are some pitfalls you need to avoid:
Lack of Commitment
Now why would someone start a new business and then fail for lack of commitment? If you don’t have the commitment to make it go, why start at all?
Well, some people approach a new business with a one foot in and one foot out mentality. Some people continue to rely on their regular job, others tell themselves they do not have enough money to cover the initial costs. Whatever the reason, this sort of thinking prevents on from giving his best shot.
Insufficient Funds
New ventures cost money. Many cost $100K, $200K and more. While some people can simply not afforrd such initial costs, other have no idea what the costs should be. The startup cost in Network Marketing can be very minimal-but you cannot expect to start from nothing at all.
Poor Marketing
This is the make-or-break factor in network marketing. You may not represent the best of all products, but you must have a well thought-out marketing plan. Take note of McDonald’s, Starbucks and many other companies that make products which are just about OK. The reason for their success- excellent marketing.
Most people only have vague ideas on how to build their business, and the results show it. If you don’t have access to quality marketing, starting a new business is not a great idea. If you are still determined, you can partner up with a successful MLM’ and use his/her plan.
Lack of Skills
Most MLM’s don’t know how to approach a prospect, what should be said to him/her and what tools are required to generate interest. These are necessary skills which enable one to attract the right clients. All the confidence, attitude, and positive thinking in the word, cannot help you make a sale, if you do not have the skills. Hence, you need a successful business partner to help you learn these skills.
This May Not Be Right for You
Not everybody is right for every business. If you lack any of the things we have mentioned above then, you have two options- quit network marketing or partner up with someone from whom you can learn the ropes.
