1. I would recommend that you should never use computer bags. I know that these bags are very  fashionable as well as comfortable, but they make it very obvious that you are carrying a laptop. Try  using a suitcase instead.
2. Make sure your laptop is always in your custody. Do not check laptops along with other items of your luggage while you are traveling. Never leave your laptop behind in your vehicle.  There has been a lot of incidents of car burglaries. These incidents have increased due to the fact that people leave  their valuable items in plain sight.
3. Never leave your passwords in your briefcase. Never keep the password in your Laptop. Without your password, it will become impossible for a thief to access your data.
4. Always keep your eyes on your laptop. Even when you go through airport security, then keep a high check on your bag. Have the possession of your bag with you until the person in front of you has gone through the metal detector. Many bags look alike the same. There is a great possibility that your bag can easily be lost in the shuffle.
5. Never keep your laptop on the floor. Settling your laptop on the floor can become a reason as well as an easy way to forget or lose track of your belongings. If you have to keep it down, then try to place it between your legs. This will ensure that you have made a contact with the Laptop and any kind of movement will surely effect you.
6. You must always use a screen guard when in you are visiting a public spot. This will enable that people would not be able to see through any kind of sensitive information. This is especially helpful when you’re standing in a crowded area.
7. I would recommend that you should never leave your laptop unsecured in your hotel room. There are a lot of instances when things happen to get “lost” in hotel rooms. These rooms are never secured. If there is an emergency that you have to leave your laptop in the room then it is recommended that you should use a security cable.
8. Make sure that your Laptop is labeled. The theft value of a belonging is reduced to a great extent  when additional work is needed in order to remove these labels.
9. My last suggestion would be that you should purchase a laptop security device. You must think that if you have invested a good amount of money in purchasing the Laptop, then it would be a wise decision to invest 1% of the whole money in purchasing security devices. Right?
