Running a Virtual Business
When we talk about virtual business, always do what only you can do. It is a natural thing in most of the businesses that whatever you are doing can be assigned to others. This will provide you free time to concentrate on other areas. Afterall you are the one with the ideas, if you will get busy in other things, who will come up and implement new ideas. You should give time to yourself for creating business opportunities and increasing the quality of your lifestyle.
How Will It Most Likely Work?
You have a physical product to see. These days most of the people can manufacture the product for you, handle the shipping work and deal with the customer support.
There is an additional way to reduce the burden of work by automating everything. With computer and internet, you can do whatever you need. So, you can do it yourself to save the money or someone to do the management work for you.
Lets take an example of Boeing Corporation – a massive company engaged in making aircrafts.
The company has hundreds of suppliers. In past, it gave detailed documentation to each supplier about the modest parts in an aeroplane. These instructions were of several hundred pages. The company then realized that it can not do all the work itself, and therefore did two things:
First of all they made sure that all the planes and designs should be easily accessible to suppliers by putting suitable security. With this the suppliers got an access to the information they needed about the fitting of parts in the total aircraft.
After this, the company reduced its brief to few pages. It relied on the technical knowledge and professionalism of suppliers for getting rest of the details correct.
Thus a huge amount of design work was outsourced just to make sure that the communication system was in place.
But how can this be applied in case of virtual business?
These days the situation is getting worse. One bad employ can take the whole company down. If you don’t have any employee, then your company will not face this problem. The step is easier than terminating a contract or getting in touch with a new supplier.
You can do two things with this information. First of all, focus on the business, which can be easily turned into virtual business. And second this is that whatever business you have, find out how much work can be outsourced or automated.
