Success is not a that far fetched a dream after all

We have been brought up in a world that swears by the fact that only those people who put their work before their existence and idolize sweat, toil and all the painstaking agony that comes with it, (basically donkeys) are the only people who smell success in life, or rather, are the only ones who deserve to be successful. I would aver that people who lack vision in life and aimlessly pursue a wild goose chase hold this notion. Here’s what: you can be a personification of success and be so without toiling like a donkey.

Now this will work only if you believe me when I tell you that how easy it is to tread your way towards success. However, to land on the same tangent as mine you will have to leave behind your ‘ I will have to work hard if I want to succeed in life’ work ethic behind.

So, here goes…

My first mantra to success is this: if your work hurts or depresses you then it is most definitely killing you. Trust me that you will find yourself much less effective as a dead person. As human beings we also have the innate ability to know that there is something within us that makes us feel good, excites us and brings us life. The tricky part here is that only you have the power to discover the way to get to it.

Some people get heart attacks or are affected by cancer with the stress of overwork. This is a kind of awakening that I am sure none of us would want to experience. When your sixth sense warns of a similar happening, please consider it as a wake up call. Always keep in mind that life is too precious to be sacrificed in the name of work.

My second mantra to success is to substitute the notion of ‘word hard’ with the notion of ‘work efficiently’. Also, I don’t believe that an uncomfortable posture will help your brain flow with creative ideas. An effective work posture is a certified way to attain success easily.

Let us tackle a few postures. Always work hardest when you are flat out on the couch, bed or floor. If you work from home and there is no given protocol regarding your work posture, choose what makes you most comfortable and productive. The key would be tapping into the subconscious mind and working efficiently and not hard.

It is also known to me that most of you probably don’t work in such kind of an environment. You work in a chaotic and demanding atmosphere where you’re practically chained to a desk. So what do you do to break out of these shackles, at least temporarily? Sit in a park at lunch, listen to the birds, listen to the sounds of people walking by, chill out and then introspect. Take an extended coffee break; lock yourself in a toilet cubicle and think. Put your gray matter to work and you will soon be pleasantly surprised with the miracles it can produce.

One thing that everyone must consider as a diktat is that if you pursue your heart-felt passion, then a happy life and a successful career become that much easy to attain.
