Why do Affiliate Program Marketeers Fail?

Every month, hundreds or sometimes even thousands of people from all over the world attempt to start an affiliate marketing program. However, most of them are completely unsuccessful at it and barely make enough money to meet ends. Most end up quitting this job after a year or two.

One simply cannot conceal the fact that most are obviously doing something wrong.

1st Mistake: They have absolutely no clue about Marketing. Most of them fail to learn the intricacies of marketing. They are simply convinced with the thought that Affiliate marketing is scheme to get rich quick. All one needs to do is pick up an ebook on Clickbank and then simply promote it via Google Adwords or Search Engine Optimization. However, a successful affiliate program would need much more than that. One should ask themselves:
A) What is Marketing?
B) How to develop a plan to start business
C) What is my marketing message

2nd Mistake: Thinking that they can do it all by themselves. Most of these unsuccessful affiliate program marketeers are somehow convinced that they do not need a coach or any kind of guidance to succeed. Having confidence in your abilities is something else, but to think you would not need any help in an absolutely new field is nothing short of ridiculous. Everyone needs a coach, an experienced mentor to show the way.
There’s a famous saying in Japanese, ‘Onegay Shimas’, which means ’show me the way’. It is essential that you ask your teacher/coach/guide to show you the way.
It is not impossible to succeed without a coach. However, it will take a huge amount of time, money and even luck. But in most cases, people without guidance will fail and eventually quit even if they are doing everything right.

3rd Mistake: Over-complicating the entire marketing process. You should understand that affiliate marketing is not that complicated a process. Here are some bulletpoints that can ensure success of your affiliate marketing program:

A. Research and find a profitable market
B. Try to find what they presently buy or want to buy?
C. Communicate with them (your profitable market) through websites, advertisements, etc
D. Promote a good product that you believe in not just any useless product. It has been observed that promoting membership sites or high priced products is a much safer option.

Avoiding these three deadly mistakes is all it takes to ensure success for your affiliate marketing program venture. Understand the marketing process is important. Realize that your goal should not be to sell but provide a solution to your customer’s problems. Once you attempt to do that, they’ll buy whatever you give.
